DCE Here I Come!

I got my schedule! I feel like my seniors who I just released into the real world a week and a half ago. Leading up to school being out, they were excited about their new roommates and schedules, and I couldn't help but be excited for them as I remember those feelings and felt like I was reliving my days leading up to heading off to ESU, my beloved Alma Mater. Some of them had shared some really sweet parting words with me before they left. Some were encouraging about how they really appreciated me as a teacher, you know, words teachers live for, but the words that really meant something to me were by students who told me "Mrs. D. I'm really proud of you for following your dreams." These words were the most meaningful words to me, and I sincerely hope that in me following my dreams, they will always have the courage to follow their dreams. More on this later. I got my schedule! I will be able to complete my DCE Specialist Degree in a year and a summer (minus the internship). Here is the e-mail I received earlier today! It's crazy, me, a 20 something elated about a course load, but I am. In fact, I think I squealed a little when I read the e-mail :) "Jessica, Here’s some possible good news for you – we might be able to get all of your classes in just two semesters plus a summer class. It would require that you take 15.5 hours in the Fall and 16.5 in the Spring and one or two classes in the summer, but your grades indicate that you shouldn’t have trouble with that type of work load. Here’s what I’m looking at for your schedule in the Fall – REL 121 – History and Literature of the Old Testament (3) REL 131 – History and Literature of the New Testament (3) CEL 484 – Confirmation Planning and implementation (2) CEL 480 – DCE Practicum (1.5) CEL 485 – Parish Education Program Administration (3) PSY 442 – Introduction to Counseling (3) How does that sound?" Okay, after reading that e-mail, if you know me, you know how much I struggle with history, and I am going to be taking TWO history classes--yikes! My husband and my father love history, so they will be taking the class along with me (whether they know it yet or not). So, if you want to say some SEVERAL prayers that I make it through history classes, I would be very appreciative of that! Well, that's all for now.
